Checking for Damage and Cleaning

If your jewellery is not sparkling the way it should, it may be damaged or in need of a detailed clean. We will clean your jewellery and check for any damages at the workshop and have it back to you shining brilliantly.

Jewellery is often in contact with skin, and exposed to wear and tear. Along with regular professional cleaning, there are steps you can take to ensure your jewellery lasts in top condition. The more you take care of your jewellery the longer you will be able to enjoy wearing it. These are easy habits to develop and will benefit your jewellery for years to come:

  • Diamonds are not indestructible. Although diamonds are the hardest known natural substance it is possible to damage them. A grain runs through the diamond, and if a stone is knocked by a hard object on correct angle, it will chip.
  • Remove your jewellery before doing rough work such as gardening, washing dishes or any work that that may result in an impact against your diamonds.
  • Keep your jewellery away from any contact with chlorine bleach (found in many household cleaning products). The diamond will be fine but it won’t do the setting much good.
  • Don’t mix your jewellery in a drawer or case when not wearing them. Pack them individually so as not to allow one item to damage another.
